Dogs ‘UK’s Most Popular Pet’

b8.jpgThe best mobile dog groomers Norfolk and the rest of the UK may very well have noticed a rise in demand for their services in the last couple of years, as research has just revealed that pooches are now the nation’s favourite pets.

According to figures from the Dogs Trust Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association, nearly a quarter of UK households have a dog, with 8.9 million pups living in Britain compared with 7.9 million cats.

It’s thought that the popularity of certain designer puppies is behind this big surge in numbers, with pugs, Chihuahuas and French bulldogs proving attractive to a lot of would-be dog owners.

Whatever kind of dog you do end up getting, it’s important that you know as much about your chosen breed as possible and that you know how best to take care of them. Some dogs will have different needs to others so you must make sure you’ve done your research before you bring your new puppy home.

If you do decide to get a dog that you’re relatively unfamiliar with, it’s a good idea to seek out some advice from those who work with the breed. Chat to your vet to see what they think about your choice of dog, or even give your local dog groomer a call to find out just how much work is involved with regards to their upkeep.

It may be that you think a long-haired pup is the right dog for you, but upon reflection a short-haired dog may be better – which is why carrying out the appropriate research is so advisable first.
